The UK's First Amazon Girls' Tech Day Gave Girls in West London the Tools They Need to Succeed in STEM
Creative Hut is proud to be the delivery partner for the first Amazon Girls' Tech Day in the UK, which took place at Uxbridge College and the West London Institute of Technology. More than 90 girls from Bishopshalt, Douay Martyrs, and Swakeleys schools in Years 7 and 8 came together for this important event to learn about the power and potential of technology.
Giving girls and young women these exciting career paths at a young age gives them ideas for what they want to do with their lives."

A Change at Home and a Movement Around the World
Dr. Niamh Shaw, a scientist, engineer, and space communicator, gave an inspiring keynote speech at the start of the day, talking about how she got into STEM. The last part of the experience was a live-streamed panel of women in tech that linked the Uxbridge and Richmond campuses. Students heard directly from women who are leaders in the tech industry.
The Amazon Girls' Tech Day is more than just a day; it's a chance to open up a whole new world of possibilities. Creative Hut helped these girls see themselves in the future of STEM by showing them exciting ways to get into tech and letting them try things out for themselves.
This project is part of our bigger Think Big Programme with AWS, which supports kids in the globally every year. Every activity, from teacher training to mobile workshops, is meant to close the skills and gender gap, one inspiring session at a time.
It's very important for young women to see what options they have at events like this. We're glad to be able to work with Creative Hut to make a difference.
